Every life is marked by transitions and special occasions – births, new relationships, deaths, illnesses, We mark these in our own ways. But sometimes it can be hard to find the words we need.

Let me help.

I can work with you to compose a ceremony that reflects your secular values and beliefs. I can lead the ceremony so you can focus on being with family or friends at the important moments of your life. As a secular Humanist officiant, nothing I do is Bible or religion-based. I make no reference to God, Christ or any religious deities or supernaturalism in the ceremonies I perform. But that does not mean that the ceremonies aren't spirited and heartfelt.

I have a masters degree in psychology from North Dakota State University, and am proud to call Fargo, North Dakota, my hometown. I was raised in a traditional Catholic family, but converted to Lutheran (ELCA) when I married in 1985. After raising my daughter in the church, I began to question my faith and became a spiritual seeker, then an Atheist.

Business brought me to Houston in 2011. The move away from family to a much larger city allowed me to became more open about my lack of faith and discover Humanism. I am now an active member of the Humanists of Houston, a non profit organization whose mission is to provide the opportunity for like-minded Humanists, atheists, agnostics, skeptics, and freethinkers to fellowship, socialize, and enjoy thought provoking activities on the interesting issues of our day.

I am on the board of the Humanists of Houston, and enjoy travel, reading, crochet,  hiking, and spending time with my family.
